I hear that they are going to turn it into a multiplex. Stratford planning don't seem to care, anything goes.

Shouldn't there be a party outside the Foxhunter next month? or should it be a wake? Surely the fact that the fire happened a year ago and not a word from the Evans's warrents some sort of reaction from the villagers.Sadly it seems all too obvious that the pub will never be rebuilt,if there are plans to do something surely they would be more forthcoming with information.Maybe it should be knocked down and a memorial erected on the site to remind us that there are people in the world who couldn't care less about village communities and put personal profit first.
Maybe I've got it all wrong, maybe the owners would love to let everbody know what on earth is going on but want to surprise us on the anniversary of the fire!

I quote from the minutes of the March Parish Council meeting: "(2) Fox Hunter Public House
Officers from the District Council have met with the owner and it has been revealed that the insurance claim has only recently been resolved. It is understood that the intention is to re-build as a public house
An assurance has been given that the building is safe, but regular inspections will take place by officers of Environmental Health and Building Control "
Maybe patience, and a little less cynicism will be rewarded...

Such good news!,I would like to thank Independent for enlightening us about the present situation and look forward to having a drink or two at the rebuilt Foxhunter. The next time that anybody asks me if I have heard what is going on with the Foxhunter I will tell them to be patient and then confidently quote Indepentent's reply, although I don't hold out much hope that I won't get a cynical comment back!

Patience. How about a year? That is a long time to be served a pint.

I don't think the owners give a monkey's to be honest. If they started work today it would take another year.

Is it relevant that the Evans family were behind the development into apartments of Sequioa house, in Stratford- I think previously a hotel?

Is this site really for attacking people on a personal level ? I'll make sure I inform The Evans family of how you locals feel about them. Dont worry about abusing me back cos i wont look at this forum again !

Surely it's not a question of how the locals feel about the owners, but more about how the locals feel about a village pub.The comments,I feel, are brought about by a lack of information and the frustration of not knowing what is going on.Maybe if the owners were to use this forum to clear up some misconceptions and speculations then we would all be the wiser. It's a pity that The real world is so upset as I don't think anybody really wants to attack them on a personal level.

You (unknown) may wish to skirt around the main issue and make this appear to be a vendetta against the owners (which it most certainly isn't) It seems to me that what you are saying is that we as a village should concentrate on more important issues and ignore the fact that it has been a year since the pub burnt down and put up with the eyesore in the middle of the village and not question what on earth is going on? And is it not important that we should worry that we may lose the pub and end up with houses /flats there instead! Why don't you concentrate on saving the planet, let me worry about things closer to home.

Not skirting around any issue, purely saying if you feel this strongly then contact the Evans Family, and ask the questions, I don't know why it is taking so long to re-build the pub there could be other issues, at the end of the day if the owners of that piece of land decide not to rebuild another pub then it is there decision, fully understand about the eyesore, prehaps they should put a huge sheet over it then to keep people happy, or prehaps just do what people want them to do, infact why don't we tell Snitterfield stores how to run, for example longer hours, the list could be endless.

I don't know what you mean by "saving the planet?"

It would be like you telling Alan Sugar to keep the company Amstrad if it wasn't making any money (not saying that the pub wasn't!) just saying that it is there business, they have the last word on what should happen next.

Prehaps you should contact them directly and ask them if the eyesore is really affecting you?

What is going on with The Foxhunter pub? Has work started on it. I hear that it has been sold last month to the same people that bought the land in kings lane . Is this true?

It was reported by County Councillor Richard Hobbs at the Parish Council meeting on Monday 14th July that the owners have been served with an "Unsightly Building Order". It was explained that they have six weeks in which to respond.

Reading post #15 from july 2008 what happened to the Unsightly Building Order or this just something else for the Parish council to discuss without actually doing anything.

THIS BUILDING IS A DISGRACE AND MAKES THE VILLAGE LOOK AN EYESORE!!! How are we ever gonna be included in Warickshire best village competition.

I agree with you, and no doubt all the parish councilors agree with you, that the fox hunter
is an eyesore. However you are being a little unfair to our parish council as, like it or not,
there are no legal powers available to them to force the owners to do anything.

Why don't some of you villagers get together and clear the site yourselves, i guarantee you will see the owners there within the hour.
