| (a) | Flood Prevention measures |
| The
Chairman reported that work was being carried out by the County Council
to rebuild the bridge in The Green adjacent to Avoncroft Farm Representatives of the Environment Agency had made visits to the Parish. Projects being considered included provision of balancing ponds, re-levelling the brook and storm water drain at Lodge Farm Drive. Details of local residents who could assist in giving historical background of the flood situation had been supplied. Councillor Hobbs said that the roadside flood measures instigated by the County Council were almost completed |
| 05. | TO RECEIVE COMMENTS/OBSERVATIONS BY COUNTY AND DISTRICT COUNCILLOR |
| (1) | Trees
in The Park - no progress in resolving the problem, but much correspondence between Mrs. Marie Rendell and the District Council |
| (2) | Councillor Fitchford
asked about proposed changes to Roadside Waste Collection Councillor Hobbs said that changes to include collection of cardboard and plastic would be introduced later this year. In due course, there would be improved Green Collection to include food waste |

Hobbs received reports of pot holes in road surface in Pigeon Green and
School Road Also, damaged road surface between Gospel Oak Lane and Avoncroft Farm |

that the Grant Application for Snitterfield Sports Club would be considered
at the forthcoming Meeting of the Avon Area Committee |
| (5) | Asked by Councillor Mrs. Morlidge if anything further was known about the proposed Gypsy site at Black Hill, he said that the result of the Appeal was still awaited |

| 09. | CARBON REDUCTION PROJECT |

Councillor Jones reported: |
| (1) | the recycling project was gaining in popularity and would continue for a three-month trial period. It was estimated that ¼ ton of carbon was being saved each week |
| (2) | the tree planting was still in abeyance; delivery from the District Council was still awaited |
| (3) | parishioners continue to sign up to the Green Tariff |

| (1) | Observed that the parking problem adjacent to the Mercedes Garage continued |
| (2) | Reported that a tree, which had fallen onto the highway in Bell Lane during recent high winds, had been removed by the contractor, Thomgarden |
| Councillor Stammers |
| (1) | Observed that the pile of hardcore was still in situ in old Kings Lane |
| (2) | Reported that work to re-position the street light in The Green would take place on 22nd January |
| (3) | Reported that he had contacted the owner of the cottage in The Green, referred to at the December Meeting. He was aware of his responsibility under the Planning Permission and the demolition would be carried out as soon as circumstances permitted |

| (1) | Submitted certain papers in relation to the Village Hall and asked for efforts to be made to resolve the terms of Appointment of the Management Committee |
| (2) | Reported that arrangements were going ahead with the Moving Pictures project and the first film show in the Village Hall would be on 22nd February. He said that publicity for the event was in hand. The cost of admission had been set at £4. He again appealed for assistance in operating the show |

Clerk submitted for consideration details of the current bank balances
and estimates of income and expenditure to the end of the current financial
year Also submitted were estimates of income and expenditure for the financial year 2008/2009 After a full discussion, Councillor Fitchford proposed, Councillor Mrs. Morlidge seconded 'that the Parish Precept be set at £21,200, an increase of 3% on the previous year' So resolved, nem con There being no further business, the Chairman declared the Meeting closed at 9-11 p.m |

He pointed to the increasing popularity of the sport amongst youngsters and said that more space was needed to accommodate them.
