| (a) |
Local Surgery The Chairman reported that she had attended a meeting with Dr. Leyland in company with Councillor Jacobs and Councillor Stammers. Dr. Leyland had explained the changes that were taking place in the National Health Service and said that there was a general lack of understanding of the new procedures. She said that there was no possibility of a doctor returning to the Surgery, but there may be an additional nurse in due course. She had also explained the difficulty in letting out space for peripheral activities. The main problem appeared to be that the existing facilities provided by a well qualified nurse were not being fully used After discussion, it was agreed that there was a need to raise awareness of the current facility and that the matter should be publicised in an article in the 'Snipe' |
| (b) |
Street Lighting The Chairman reported that the working party had carried out a survey of the village and she submitted a list of recommendations for additional/alternative street lighting It was agreed that there was a need to prioritise the requirements and to obtain potential costs |
| (c) |
Traffic The Clerk read a letter from Jonathan Simkins, Department of Planning, Transport and Economic Strategy to Amjid Raza, Highways Agency drawing attention to the Snitterfield Parish Plan and in particular, matters relating to the Stratford Northern By-Pass, i.e. safety improvements, reduction of noise levels and concerns of 'rat runs' The Clerk also read a letter from a parishioner, Ron Grant, in which he praised the quality of the Parish Plan, but advised against further road signs and traffic calming measures in Snitterfield |
