The Chairman reported
that he had a positive meeting with Jennie Simper of the Environment
Agency. It was stated that Councillor Hobbs was also pursuing the matter with the Environment Agency. He had been informed that efforts were being made to finance surveys to find a solution to the flooding problems Note was also taken of the submission by Graham Barker during the period of public participation and the Chairman gave an assurance that both he and Councillor Hobbs would continue to press for action Councillor Mrs. Morlidge said that it was essential that the efforts of all agencies were co-ordinated in an effort to resolve the various issues |

The Chairman introduced
the subject and said that he had been approached to write to the District
Council on behalf of the Parish Council on the issue |
| 11. | ANNUAL PARISH MEETING |
|
It was agreed to hold the
Annual Parish Meeting on Monday 21st April. The Clerk to make necessary
arrangements |

annual pay commencing 1st April, 2008 would be £4,000

lump sum of £400 would be payable for the year 2007/2008

Services, commencing 1st April, 2008

| After careful consideration, Councillor Mrs. Morlidge proposed, Councillor Fitchford seconded and it was agreed |

to award the contract to Veolia Environmental Services for grass cutting
the Large Playing Field, area around the Stocks tree and area around
the War Memorial
|

to award the contract to Thomgarden for grass cutting the Cemetery,
the Small Playing Field and the Play Area of the Large Playing Field

| Councillor Jacobs gave his apologies to the Chairman and left the Meeting |
| Consideration was given to the Play Area Inspection Report and the various recommendations for action |

Mrs. Morlidge proposed, Councillor Miss Kimberley seconded and it was
agreed 'To award a contract to Thomgarden to carry out remedial works at both Small and Large Playing Fields' There being no further business, the Chairman declared the Meeting closed at 9-30 p.m |

Prior to Meeting |
| Raised
the matter of the flooding problem and referred to a letter which he had
sent to Councillor Mrs. Morlidge. He commented on meetings with representatives
of the Environment Agency which had been positive It had been agreed that a trash screen should be positioned upstream from Sherbourne House, to be accessible by staff from the road Further, in order to improve the water flow, it had been agreed that it would be beneficial to culvert 21 metres of the brook just before the existing entrance to the culvert at Sherbourne House. This would be dependent on the removal of a twin pipe section He spoke of the benefit, not only to himself, but to the village as a whole by increasing the flow He asked that pressure be brought to bear on the Environment Agency for prompt action He also raised the matter of financial assistance The Chairman responded
and said that he had a positive with Jennie Simper of the Environment
Agency and he would continue to liaise with her |

Hedgerows
A successful prosecution against Mr. Freeman of Snitterfield Fruit Farm for removing hedgerows without gaining Planning Permission had resulted in a fine of £800 and £4,000 costs. A Replacement Order will be issued |

Fox Hunter Public House
Officers from the District Council have met with the owner and it has been revealed that the insurance claim has only recently been resolved. It is understood that the intention is to re-build as a public house An assurance has been given that the building is safe, but regular inspections will take place by officers of Environmental Health and Building Control |

Road Works
Various road works had been carried out in The Green as the result of issues brought up at the February Meeting |
