To "the two of us" Steve and Colin, you guys were great tonight. We love you as you know and you didn't fail to let us have a wonderful night. Sorry Chocie's voice gone but Edith is good backup and you made our night AGAIN!

If Colin could play bowls as good as he drums he is gonna win the final.

Lots of love from the two of us.

court booking

There seems to be some mixed messages circulating about court booking. Firstly, any member is able to book Friday night just the same as any other available night. Secondly, there is no "phone in" system. Thirdly, tennis balls are provided by the members playing. I hope that any recent forum entries have not discouraged any of the tennis members from booking whenever they feel like it!!

Anyone fancy coming to the club next Saturday evening, 18th August. I'm taking my guitar, Colin on drums, Lee on BBQ. Bring an instrument if you want, or just bring a voice. No pressure to perform, just listen at your own peril!!! Modern songs carefully avoided!!! Please let Claire know if you can make it.

Chocie keeps his head and trusts in his own abilities. Up against a total stranger in person, style and form, chocie adapted to the weather, the courts, the rest of the environs and concentrated enough to give some of the sixty seconds worth of distance run he is capable of.........Editor please note:competition entry update needed.

The tennis club's junior development officer, Paul Waldron, has asked me to put the following appreciative communicataion on the website not only to show how much the coaching sessions at the club have aided one of our junior members, Nathaniel Breakwell, but how a simple reference to an article in a magazine can lead to greater things.

'Just a note to say thanks for giving Nathaniel the On The Ball with the information regarding the Tennis Leader Award back in the autumn last year.
I thought that you might be interested to know what Nathaniel is doing as a result.
He followed up on the article and got on a course at Edgbaston Priory, did the coaching hours required partly with David Howard at Snitterfield and partly with Gavin at the Boat Club. He was then asked to help as a Tennis Leader at the Davis Cup over the Easter weekend. He had 2 great days at the NEC where they were told that the best boy and girl would be put forward for the Wimbledon selection process.

The final (although the league organiser still awaits a result from February) table shows Snitterfield finishing 8/10. The winners were Henley-in-Arden. Given our annual progess in 7 or so years time we'll be pushing for top spot. Most people who play seem to enjoy this league so I shall enter us again next year.

tennis friday nights

Is there a majority to convert to a club night for the summmer months only? I know Wimbledon is nigh and that the summertime brings people out........I say this because we seem to have changing mix on Friday nights and not everyone is available all of the time.....so if the concensus is positive I am amenable. If anyone sees it the same way let Claire know so she has a chance to know who is coming and who is not equally important.

If the Summertime Friday was to happen it might be that the Wednesday night could revert to a bookable night?????

See how everyone feels.

Hi Gang!

We have just five at the minute:Bev Emma and Isobel of the lady memebers and representing the men.....Paul W and my goodself.

There is a dearth of available players tonight...must be BBQ season or certainly other major sporting events in Worcestershire and environs affecting the situation! A few players nursing ailments of the various limbs. Sorry to report this good shepherd has failed to gather the strays in, in sufficient numbers.

We can mix in as required and as the temptations of the Bar reduce resistance there will be an early night, doubtless.

I have managed to raise a side to play Chipping Campden on Sunday 11/2/07 10.00.

Clive, Nick Nathaniel and myself. Clive going direct to CC. Take B4632 to Mickleton the onwards to CC down hill not speeding (30 zone) then into then town look out for the left hand side SHEEP STREET sign, just after the Tythe Barn which is on right. Take this LEFT turn and up to the next junction going left and passing a fire station. At end of the road as it bears right, GO LEFT and down a bridle way for 20 yards or so. Park up by Tennis Courts. Meeting at our Club 9.30 a.m.
