Snitterfield Village Hall Improvement and Development Project

Snitterfield Village Hall Management Committee (SVHMC) has been working on plans to improve the hall and provide facilities for disabled users. These plans also include
refurbishing the toilets, storage areas and building a replacement meeting room to the rear of the hall.
Plans were drawn up and approved in the autumn of 2015 and public consultation was
sought at this point. There was overwhelming support for the plans but since then we have needed to make changes to help reduce the costs which are currently estimated to be in the region of £200,000.
The new plans will still provide the elements as previously proposed and the work will be undertaken in phases:

Phase 1:
Refurbish the existing toilets and build a new easy-access toilet. The new toilet will be located between the kitchen and rear meeting room with access from both rooms.
Refurbish the store rooms
Raise the carpark level to give direct access into the main hall for wheelchairs
and pushchairs through the front door.
Redecorate the main hall.

Phase 2:
Build a larger meeting room at the rear of the hall with direct access from the
side of the building. This will include a servery area and access to the new
toilet. Install a glass porch within the main hall.
