THE
IFAKARA BAKERY PROJECT
Eugene
and Margaret Schellenberg visited Ifakara, 250 miles away from
Dar es Salaam in Tanzania in 1998. They were persuaded that
a bakery would ensure there was no shortage of food in this
small village, even when there was a poor harvest. Eugene used
his business skills to create a business plan and between him
and his wife raised the necessary £30,000 to purchase
and install the equipment to start the bakery. Their fascinating
talk follows the progress of this venture and its success.
