The speaker at our WI meeting was Ray Mansell from Orbit Heart of England. An organisation whose mission is to build brighter futures for people and communities.

Their objectives are to be recognised as the leading and most innovative provider of affordable housing in our region. To deliver the highest standards of quality to their customers in everything they do and to provide more affordable housing over the next five years, working in partnership with local authorities.
They currently have 44000 properties in the Midlands up to Burton on Trent. They supply housing to drug users, mother and baby, sheltered housing, those with general needs, mortgage rescue and shared ownerships.

Briarcroft in Stratford upon Avon has 64 independent one and two bedroomed flats, for people over 55 years of age. 46 units are to rent and 18 shared ownership. The complex provides independent living with care. It has a restaurant, IT, laundry, library and Well Being Centre. Orbit work with a team of architects to ensure that the complexes fit in with the surrounding area and are exciting places for people to live.

Further complexes in the area will be St Bede’s in Bedford, Queensway Court in Leamington Spa and at Southam.
