Judith Walker our President reminded us about the 80th Birthday celebrations of our Institute. Other organisations in the village are to be invited to join us for the dinner and entertainment on Saturday 27th April in the village hall. Amongst forthcoming County events are the Annual Federation meeting at Stoneleigh Park on the 20th March, two Serious Science talks and the Speakers selection evening on the 29th April. Also on offer is an outing to Jodrell Bank. Ann Farr has stood down from the Creative Activities sub committee but will still continue with occasional work shops.

Our own member Jacky Legge was the speaker for the evening. Jacky brought along a large assortment of beads and wires together with a selection of jewellery that she had made from these. An amazing necklace made from knitted wire and beads. The necklace had been knitted as you would using wool and knitting needles. The wire was very fine and pliable.Jacky was hoping that members would "Have a go for themselves" Some members did have a go at the necklace although it would have taken a lot longer than the time available to produce the completed article. Other members made bracelets and pendants using wire ,beads and buttons. Jacky has been practising her hobby for about 18 months and has produced some very pretty objects. Her talk was very inspiring and some members may have another go for themselves. We have a lot of talent amongst our members and perhaps we will have another "home grown" evening.

The next meeting will be Wednesday March 13 when Gwen Zanzottera will tell us "Why I go topless around Stratford!". This meeting is open to non members
