November is the month when we hold our Annual Meeting. This month was very well attended with several new members joining us. Sylvia Morlidge being away Anne Farr acted as secretary. This month we have no speaker so as soon as the monthly business was completed the Annual meeting commenced. All the existing committee were willing to stand for another year except for Joyce Norman who is retiring as treasurer and Pat Field both of whom have completed their 5 years. Judith Walker is carrying on as President for another year with Sylvia as secretary. Judith thanked Joyce and Pat the retiring members for all their hard work and said they will be sadly missed. She hoped that the coming year would be as happy and successful as the previous one. She also reminded us that next year is our 80th Birthday which will mean special celebrations!
Some future events were announced. Anne Farr is running a 2 day course in January at Federation House making a Japanese Box Quilt sampler, she is also having a half day course at her own house on bead jewellery.
The next meeting, Wednesday December 12th will be a Christmas supper of roast beef supplied by John from the Sports Club. The entertainment , written by Pauline Brace and performed by members, a Sort-of-Panto "WI Babes in the West."
