Despite the general belief that an AGM could prove less than inspiring, our members found the November meeting not only instructive but tasty. The officers for next year’s committee were speedily elected, with Angela Tomes as our new president. She immediately proved her worth by demonstrating how we could make a Christmas decoration to please the family. Not only would the snowman and fir tree grace the table or cake but the images were totally edible – sure to be popular with the sweet-toothed around the festive board.

We expressed our thanks to our retiring president Sylvia Morlidge, to Bob Foster our auditor, and to press correspondent Jean Dronsfield, while welcomimg Carol Pullen as secretary. Delicious wine and home-baked nibbles provided our refreshment, as we looked forward to Anne Farr’s next creative course and the Christmas Feast at the Snitterfield Arms, all of which proving that our membership of the WI is nothing if not enjoyable.
